Someday My Prince Will Come!
Monday, March 12, 2012
Did you ever play dress up as a little girl? Were you a princess waiting for your prince charming to ride in and carry you off into the sunset?
I remember a friend and I would put on those plastic high heel shoes you could buy at the store just for such an occasion of playing dress up. Long dresses, fake fur, ribbons, jewelry and of course the lipstick. We would pretend a huge limo would pick us up to take us to some magical place, where of course our prince charming waited.
As we would walk into the huge ballroom (which I might add not so gracefully, those shoes were killers, they would roll one's ankle) that wouldn't stop us, we didn't care, we were the prettiest girls at the ball, and of course we each found our prince charming only to live happily ever after.
As I grew up I discovered life is not a magical place and prince charmings are few and far between, I didn't feel pretty anymore. As the insecurities started to replace the magical thinking my search was on. Not for just a prince charming although he was on the list, after all he would definitely make me feel better about myself. The search for the right job, great clothes, fast cars were a definite "have to have" if I was going to be someone important in my own eyes and others.
Then one day in a time of great distress I found my prince who rescued me, loved me, changed me, my life has never been the same.
Many years have gone by, but my prince has remained the same yesterday, today and forever.....
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.
He loves me with an unconditional love.....
Psalm 63:3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you, I will praise you as long as I live and in your name I will lift up my hands.
He has rescued me.....
1Thessalonians 1:10 Jesus who rescues us from the coming wrath.
His kingdom is not of this world.....
John 18:36 Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world."
Revelation 21: 18,19,21
verse 18 The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass.
verse 19 The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone.
verse 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls each gate made of a single pearl, the great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass.
Yes, it is true we can "Live Happily Ever After"
1John 2:17 The world and its desires pass away but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
THE END!
